An international incident has occurred in the disputed waters off the coast of Iran and Iraq. Britain’s response “it is misunderstanding and we will resolve it through diplomatic channels. Cherniak’s response “bomb Iran.” Again we have to put the question to Cherniak; if you are so g-d impressed with gross bellicose militarism why don’t you enlist? Or are you like all those tough guy republicans that do the talking while others do the killing and the dying?
.
It is time the liberal party sent you to your natural home in the Conservative party of Canada. You could sit on the board of the CIC with Ezra and synergize.

Far be it for me to defend Mr. Cherniak. He is a New Democratic hating Liberal. I am a Liberal hating New Democrat …. BUT … are you sure that is what he said?
On his blog I found him saying, “Perhaps the response will be to bomb military targets such as nuclear reactors?” It is a question and is a long way away from saying ‘bomb Iran’ – if he did say those words, can you direct me to them.
Thanks!

Check the title of his post “Is not this an act of War?” Which means he thinks it is. And then we get to the next rhetorical question “if it is then perhaps Iran will be bombed.” Given he does not answer his original rhetorical question in the negative it is fair to assume that he is in favour of bombing Iran. Now if Cherniak posts that he (a) does not think it is an act of war and (b) makes clear that he is not calling for the bombing of Iran THEN and ONLY THEN will we retract our inference.

So little Jason only advocates bombing nuclear reactors – gee – lets wipe out part of the ‘innocent’ population, start a nuclear meltdown, and spew radioactive particles into the atmosphere that travel all over the middle east and beyond. Sounds like he’s a real ‘environmentalist’ and maybe should rethink his support of Dion.
And yes, little Jason, just has a hate on for the NDP. His favourite blog section is all about this hate. Personally, I like that he is Mr. Liberal of libblogs as he constantly reminds me of the absolute differences between libs and NDPers.

Who’s going to start the petition for Jason Cherniak’s enlistment in the Canadian Forces?
March 23, 2007 at 7:02 pm
It’s interesting that even in the face of the British government’s official position, Jason is still bringing up the idea of offensive actions against Iran.
You would have thought that the British position would have taken the winds out of the sails of any idea that we ought to consider offensive operations, but I guess this wouldn’t be the first time that a Zionist wanted to use the pen before the sword…

Speaking of petitions everyone should sign our Enlist Jason Cherniak petition.

Also as we have said many times it is important to distinguish between nationalism (Zionism) and violent nationalism (violent expressions of zionism). There are as many patriotic Americans who are against the Iraq war as there are for the Iraq war.

Jason is a bit jumpy. As in jumpy the gunny. Let’s see where the boat was when it was boarded, exactly. Jason appears to want to assume the Iranians are the aggressors in this event. Maybe they are. Maybe they are not. Why the rush to judgement?
March 23, 2007 at 10:55 pm
It does not really matter where the boat actually was. As if a stray British aircraft into Iran would be sufficient to call for an Iranian air strike on say Manchester. Jason has no capcity to think about foreign relations given his existing understanding of his commitments to Israel. He simply is looking for a pre-text to already decided upon necessary course of action.

What’s wrong with you people? It was a frigging question.
March 24, 2007 at 9:23 pm
Yah ok we will remember that next time two Israeli soldiers cross over into Lebanon. And we will ask the question “is this not a declaration of War” and then we will ask “if it is perhaps Tel Aviv will be bombed.”
Sorry man go ply your “who me” innocent act somewhere else. Damn your parents must have indulged the shit out of you.

Jason
You know something, Holmes, I’d really like to encourage you, on some levels. The fact that you are as involved as you are is great. And no one can argue that your blog is not a great success, in terms of hits and attention.
But you would really benefit from knocking off the bullshit. C.O. is right in calling you on the wide-eyed innocence pretense. If you were asking a question, you would have written the thing quite differently:
Today the Iranian Navy took into custody 15 British Marines, whom they say were in Iranian waters. The British insist they were in Iraqi waters. This is a most serious incident. I wonder if readers consider this action, on the part of Iranians, an act of war, and if so, how should the British and the international community respond?

Cherniak’s spreading of rumors about Cheri Dinovo was shameful but that being said I don’t see why you’re accusing him of “dual loyalty”.
Most people who support an aggressive stance toward Iran are rightwing Gentiles. There’s nothing Jewish or Zionist about it.
