My dad just died. He was a hell of guy. I remember a couple of years back I was giving a speech at a Palestinians for Peace Rally and there were some anti-Palestinian goons shouting abuse and epithets. It sure was an unpleasant experience.

At the end of it, my dad walked up to me, wearing his overcoat and fedora. I hadn’t known he was there. “You did well, my boy,” he said. “Your mother would be proud of you today.” And off he went.

He was a wonderful man, and we will miss him.
